I first met Angela Vickers years ago when dropping off donations at the Repeat Boutique, and like many of you, I was touched by her heartfelt concern & care for my family. Angela told me that she first volunteered at Options Now as a counselor before coming on board as a staff member at the Repeat Boutique Thrift Store. It is clear that her counseling background comes in handy at the receiving door. Whether a donation is made because of downsizing due to a job loss or cleaning out a deceased parents’ home, many times donations come in by way of hurting people who need a hug, a prayer, or some encouragement. Angela is faithful to listen to God’s voice, freely blessing others with her encouragement and optimism.
Angela is no stranger to this community, and her hard work at the Repeat Boutique donation receiving door has not gone unnoticed. Angela was honored recently by the Lowndes-Valdosta Chamber of Commerce as a “World Class Employee.” She explained that the lengthy application & interview process were intimidating, but she gives all glory & credit to God for the honor. We are proud of Angela for the tireless work she does, and we rejoice with her in receiving this award.
At a surprise celebration of the award, Angela was honored by her coworkers at The Repeat Boutique Thrift Store. Angela remarked that it takes the entire staff—both paid & volunteer— to make the ministry work, and that the award belongs to the entire Repeat Boutique Thrift Store team. Store Manager, Robin DeRocco, read from the essay she had submitted to recommend Angela, noting that the entire community is brighter because of Angela’s faithful, caring service. Board member Jimmy Whatley commented that many people paint on a facade, but “Angela is the real deal.”
We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations, Angela!
